Active School Week 13th- 17th October 2014

Programme of Events  for Active





13th - 17th October 2014

Monday 13th Oct:

Dance Day

Eileen Barrett (dance teacher) will teach a routine to each class.

We will also Step it Up throughout the week in class (classroom dance activity).


Tuesday 14th Oct:

Marathon Relay Challenge

The pupils will complete a 26.2 mile journey around the school grounds in relay form carrying a Liscarroll Flag.  All pupils will take turns with their class to complete this mighty challenge.  The exact distance will be calculated prior to the event and a detail account of all laps completed  will be documented to ensure the full 26.2 miles will be completed.  The pupils will run in pairs.  Emphasis is on participation not speed.


Wednesday 15th Oct:

Walk a Mile with a Smile

All classes & staff will partake in a school walk.  It is advised that children wear a high visibility vest so if you have one for your child, please put it in their school bag on the morning of the walk.  

Skipping Class & Boxercise

A visiting boxing coach will take each class for some skipping exercises and boxing exercises (non contact).  Don’t worry, there will not be a bloody nose in sight.


Thursday 16th Oct:

Assembly Aerobics with Ms Guiney - all pupils & staff partake in this activity.

Whole School Mexican Wave

All pupils & staff will meet in the backyard to form a giant Mexican wave.

School Football Final

Liscarroll NS v Milford NS

The final will be played in Carrigoon, Mallow at 12 noon.

3rd - 6th classes will travel by bus to Mallow to support our boys.

Parents and supporters are welcome and encouraged to travel and support this wonderful bunch of lads representing our school.


Friday 17th Oct:

School Football Blitz (1st - 6th classes)

1st - 6th classes will participate in a school football blitz with Kilbrin NS in Kilbrin GAA field. (More details on this next week).  Emphasis is on participation not competition.

School Disco  (Juniors, Seniors & Lios Curam)

There will be a school disco in the Halla for these classes led by teachers and SNAs.


Note:  If an activity is rained off, we will facilitate it the following week
