Racing Pigeon Found in our Sensory Garden

Monday proved to be a very exciting day for the students in Lios Cúram when they found a racing pigeon in the Sensory Garden.
With the help of Eamon, Fintan and Shane were able to find the pigeon’s ring number, which was attached to the pigeon’s ankle.

We then contacted the ‘Royal Pigeon Racing Association’ who gave us the contact details of the pigeon’s owner.

The pigeon had come all the way from Newry, Co. Down!  The owner told us the pigeon was in a race on Saturday and must have strayed off course.

The students in the Elderberry room fed the pigeon and gave him plenty of water.  He was collected that evening from the school.

Well done to everyone in Lios Cúram who showed great kindness to the pigeon
