Grandparent's Day 6th of February 2014

St. Joseph’s N.S. will this week celebrate Catholic Schools Week. An integral part of this celebration is Grandparent’s Day which will be celebrated on Thursday the 6th of February. All Grandparent’s of children attending the school are invited to come celebrate the special the special relationship that is so important in the lives of their grandchildren. Our celebration will begin with a Prayer Service in the school hall.Tea and freshly baked scones will be provided for all attending, baked by one of our grandparents & 5th & 6th class. There will be a variety of activities for children and grandparents alike to visit in the various classrooms. Mr. Moylan will entertain us with some new songs to sing along to in Miss Mason’s room. Maryanne O’Brien will demonstrate Flower arranging in Miss Murphy’s room. Con Aherne, a resident in the Windmill Nursing Home in Churchtown will show us all how to make St. Brigid crosses. There will be a baking demonstration in Mrs. Mullane’s room by Noreen Healy, and we will get to sample some of her world famous scones. And finally members of IRD Duhallow will show their films relating to the history and development of the Duhallow area. We are all looking forward to this celebration and remembering our Grandparents past and those that continue to bring joy to our lives.
