Liscarroll N.S. raised their 5th Green Flag today.
This flag was the biodiversity flag.  This was a very interesting & child-friendly topic to study.

The committee created fun, hands- on projects for the classes such as making bird houses, setting up gardens, planting flowers and a wildflower patch, planting trees and vegetables gardens. We also got a bug hotel which allowed the children to investigate insects. The committee also invited guest speakers to school and we were lucky enough to host  a beekeeper in our school and learn about the importance of bees and how they impact our environment.   We also learned the importance of pollination for our plants and animals.

An enormous amount of work was involved in achieving this award.
Well done to the Green Schools co-ordinators, Caroline Griffin & Sinéad Ducey
with the help of a dedicated
Green Schools Committee on working so tirelessly to earn this green flag. We were honoured to have past pupil, former Green School's Committee member
and current Cork Under 20 Hurling star,
Colin O'Brien raise our Green Flag today.
Colin has always been generous with his time.
 All pupils wore something green
in honour of the occasion.
Congratulations to all involved.
It was a great celebration.
