S.T.E.M. Award for 5th & 6th classes

posted 7 Dec 2020, 03:36 by Margaret Mullane
A huge congratulations to 5th & 6th class and to their teachers Mrs Walsh & Mrs Mullane on receiving a Discovery Primary Science & Maths Award for their work in S.T.E.M over the past year.

There were many science experiments, maths trails & activities, engineering projects and much use of technology to compliment these activities.  The pupils worked in groups of four and rotated to a different station each week so that over the course of the month, they experienced all aspects of STEM on a given theme.  The pupils looked forward to Friday mornings when they could engage in these hands-on activities.  The pupils were actively learning throughout these lessons.

While there was often much noise, there was also much investigating, predicting, observing, creativity, problem solving, discussion and team work on display. These lessons were a bit hit with both pupils and staff.
