Classroom news

Our theme this week is Halloween.

During the spooky season we made toffee apples in class. They went down a treat. We painted spooky ghosts and Casper was the favourite. The boys experimented with clay and made goblins and monster zinc characters out of clay.

This month we celebrated two of our boys  birthdays in class. We had a birthday party for each of the boys. We love birthday parties.

On November 15th President Michael D Higgins and his lovely wife Sabina came to visit us in our school. It was a momentous occasion for both pupils and staff alike. The President and his wife paid a special visit to Lios Cúram. The pupils and staff of the Elderberry room were priviliged to meet Mr. and Mrs. Higgins personally and shake their hands. The President and his wife paid a visit to the classroom and the pupils sang the ‘Good Evening Song’ for them. Both Mr and Mrs Higgins paid huge compliments to the performance. We were very proud of our boys .

The latter part of the Presidential visit took place in the main school hall where all the pupils of Liscarroll National School performed two songs for the President and his wife. It was a historical day for pupils and staff of Liscarroll National School and has left us all with proud, fond memories to treasure.
