Here at Liscarroll National School, we pride ourselves on our commitment to e-learning.  Some of our current e-learning practices in place are as follows:

• Each child enrolled in Liscarroll NS will be provided with their own personal gmail account. This account is specific to the Liscaroll NS network and give students access to our google workspace. This platform allows us to create a safe digital learning community where teachers can communicate with students online. For our younger students, teachers liaise with parents on how to guide their children in accessing the online platform.

• The main element of the google workspace that the children will use is Google classroom. Each class is invited to join their own google classroom which is run by their teacher. On here they will be able to access weekly homework instructions, updates from their teacher as well as interactive assignments allocated to them by their class teacher. 

• Children in all classes have begun to learn how to create digital learning portfolios.  These are student-owned dynamic digital work-spaces wherein students can capture their learning and their ideas, access their collections of work, reflect on their learning, share it, set goals, seek feedback and showcase their learning and achievements.

• The school now has 2 chrome book trolleys that are accessed each week by students from 1st class up to 6th class. The chrome books are for a variety of uses, researching and creating projects, typing, saving and sharing documents, recording information and much more. 

• The school also has a bank of iPads for use in all classes but mainly in junior infants, senior infants and the classes in Lios Cúram. These provide a form of digital learning that is more easily accessed by for these students.

• Each classroom in Liscarroll NS now also has a state of the art interactive whiteboard installed giving easy access to online resources for teaching and learning. We also have a portable screen used for casting that is used in SET rooms or in the hall for group activities and presentations.
