Attendance Initiatives
At Liscarroll N.S., we believe that every single day in the classroom is a chance for your child to spark a new interest, build a lasting friendship, and grow in confidence. Our "Strive for Five!" initiative is a friendly, school-wide encouragement for every student to aim for a full five-day week of school.
We know that life can be busy and mornings can be a juggle, but being here from Monday to Friday makes a world of difference. When children "Strive for Five," they aren’t just hitting a target—they are setting themselves up for a happy, successful school journey.
Consistent attendance is about so much more than academics. Here is why every day counts:
Belonging & Friendship: School is where social magic happens! Being here every day helps children stay "in the loop" with their friends, join in on playground games, and feel like a vital part of their class community.
Building Steady Habits: Attending five days a week helps children develop a great routine. These early habits of reliability and commitment are life skills that will serve them well long after they leave our halls.
Confidence in Learning: Lessons often build on top of one another like building blocks. When a child is here every day, they don't have to worry about "catching up" on a missed concept, which keeps their confidence high and their stress low.
Full Participation: From P.E. and Art to group projects and school assemblies, so much of the "fun stuff" happens spontaneously. We don’t want anyone to miss out on those "you had to be there" moments!
We understand that sometimes there are genuine hurdles to getting to school. Our "Strive for Five" drive isn't about perfection—it's about progress and partnership.
If you are finding the morning routine difficult or if your child is feeling anxious about school, please reach out to us. We are a community, and we want to work together to make sure every child feels excited to walk through our doors five days a week.
Let’s join the drive—because every day at Liscarroll N.S. is a learning day!
