We are delighted to announce that we have set up our Active School Committee for the School Year 2025/2026.
We elected one person from each class along with teachers & SNAs.
We also have a community representative.
Our Active School Slogan is:

we are proud to be active in
Lios Cearúil'.
PE strand of Focus for 2025/2026
This year we are focusing on improving the 'Gymnastics' strand of the PE Curriculum. We are delighted to welcom School Fitness Ireland to our school in November to do 4 sessions of gymnastics with every class. This will help to upskill pupils and staff on this strand. We also will concentrate on fundamental movement skills as outlined in our PE plan for the year.
We will also encourage class teachers to book active school tours where possible.
Gymnastics with School Fitness Ireland
We were delighted to welcome coaches from School Fitness Ireland to do a four week block of gymnastics with all classes in the school. They were excellent and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the lessons as well as learning a lot of gymnastic skills.

We wish our School Girls Football Team all the best in the Sciath na Scol B1 Final. This will be held on 22nd October in Carrigoon, Mallow at 11.30am. Their opponents on the day will be Kildorrery.

Champions
Well done to our Senior Boys who won the Plate Final at the Charleville CBS James Fitzgerald Memorial Blitz, The boys played their hearts out to win the Plate Final. Huge thanks to all involved in organising this blitz which was very well organise and run on the day.
Cycle Right Programme
We were delighted to welcome the Cycle Right Programme to the school. This year was the third time in recent years that we have been accepted into the programme.
Our 5th class were picked to partake. They learnt the rules of the road for cyclists and how to cycle safely on our roads. Some of our pupils couldn't cycle previously so they also learnt to cycle. This is a wonderful programme and we are very grateful to Kieron and his team and to Cork Sports Partnership for subsidising this worthwhile programme.
1st & 2nd Class Football Blitz
Our 1st & 2nd class pupils travelled to Buttevant to play in a football blitz. They played three games and had a great time. There was a great range of skills on display from both the boys and the girls.
